In 2007, Millar Western expanded its lumber interests through the acquisition of a sawmill/planer mill complex at Fox Creek. The Fox Creek operation's 60 employees are currently producing at a rate of 60 million board feet of dimension lumber per year.

Woodlands
Working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, Millar Western's staff of 35 woodlands managers, foresters, technicians and other specialists are responsible for meeting the fibre needs of the company's lumber and pulp mills while ensuring the sustainability, and protecting the health and diversity, of publicly-owned forest lands.
